Public Safety Campus Features

Public Plaza

Energy design strategies range from exterior solar shading to energy-efficient lighting and mechanical systems. The site design balances functionality with maintaining a legacy treeline along the street frontage, with landscaping that incorporates native plants and a living wall.

Large Seat Community Room

Our new campus will include a welcoming 50-seat community room where neighbors and first responders can come together. Whether it’s for public meetings, training, or special events, this space will build connection and stronger relationships in Summerville.

High-Tech Saftey Equipment

The campus is protected by high-resolution cameras capable of license plate and facial recognition combined with digital access controls. A state-of-the-art drone can be deployed from the roof to aid public safety through surveillance and increased response times.

First Responder Drone Technology

The Summerville Public Safety Campus will be equipped with cutting-edge drone technology for first responders, enabling faster response times to emergencies across town. Our Nokia Drone System can be deployed within seconds of a call, providing real-time aerial support to personnel on the ground.

Ample Parking Deck

The campus will feature a convenient three-story parking deck for public safety staff, fleet vehicles, and visitors. It’s designed for easy access, so our first responders can get where they need to go, fast and hassle-free. The parking deck will be available to citizens as additional parking in the town of Summerville during special events.

Police Fleet Maintenance

We’re building an on-site facility to keep all our police vehicles in top shape. With expert care just steps away, our officers will always be ready to serve and protect Summerville; no long waits or downtime.

Why the new Public Safety Campus?

Summerville is growing fast, and so are our community's needs. That’s why we’re building the new Public Safety Campus, a place designed to help keep everyone safe, now and in the future. Our old facilities weren’t built for today’s world, but our first responders work hard every day to protect us. With this new campus, we’re making sure they have the tools, technology, and space they need to do their jobs well and respond quickly when it matters most. By bringing everyone together in one modern space, we’ll work better as a team and leverage the latest innovations to keep Summerville safe. This project is about more than just a new building; it’s about our commitment to every person who calls Summerville home.
